Are you come or gone?

Goin' to Mexico in a few hours!! I think I may have mentioned that last post, but it was too long ago for me to remember for sure, which is weird. I remember when I used to update five times a day. Now it's like, "oh, it's been a month, maybe I should tell people what I'm doing." NOT SURE WHAT'S UP WITH THAT.

The recent haps:

1. Finished the semester, pretty sure my grades are standing ovations all around. I received perfect grades on four assignments so far this term. In my entire college career I've achieved three A+s, and then just this term I got four perfect grades and various near-perfect grades and I haven't even got half my marks back yet. I am really not sure how this happened. My cumulative GPA to this point is a 2.3 or something dire like that. I'm pretty pleased with myself, not gonna lie! :D :D (For perspective, we are assigned around three projects per class per term, so those A+s weigh pretty heavily! I am stoked!!)

2. My proposal got accepted for that gallery show, so I've got to get my installation together sometime pretty soon. This is thrilling! Making real art is pretty much the coolest.

3. Mexico!! For like two and a half weeks!! I have never been to Mexico because of my various fears of water and heat and places where the native language is not one of the two I am comfortable conversing in, so this will be new and potentially exciting!! But I am also going with my father and my grandmother and my grandmother's tiny dog, so it has a high probability of being intermittently horrible. Ah, well. FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS, AMIRITE?

4. Speaking of the two languages I am comfortable conversing in, I was at a party the other day that had a bunch of ESL friends of a friend there, and one of them was French and two of them were Swiss so we were chatting away which of course led to one of those conversations wherein the French guy made fun of my accent for being apparently not unlike a cheesegrater to the ears (because it is pretty Quebec-y, it is true) and then the Swiss guys and I made fun of the French guy for sounding like he had a small branch up his rear and then imitated him all night and it was pretty belligerent to be honest but in a jokey way but also I felt a strong need to defend my people. And then I had to leave the party to go to another party and the French guy (whose name was Eliot) was like "YOU'RE LEAVING? DDDDDD:" And then we made out \o/

Those are the haps! Hopefully I will have internet in Mexico. If I do not I will be hella bummed. The internet is where I keep my stuff.

I am optimistic that Mexico will be great!

Also, I feel "and then we made out \o/" is the best ever ending to a post. WELL DONE.
