Oct. 14th, 2010 04:01 pmSO, EVIDENTLY IT HAS BEEN OVER A MONTH SINCE MY LAST ENTRY.
Some people have taken exception. This is totally the first time I have gotten in trouble for not talking enough! \o/
My life right now is basically working hard, studying hard, arting hard, and sleeping lightly and infrequently.
In awesome news, I might have an installation in a gallery show next month! It's not for sure yet, but I have my hopes up enormously so it will be either the AWESOMEST THING or I will never emotionally recover. The show is curated by a friend of mine and two of her friends, so I am basically counting on either her pushing for me or the other two being as into my concept as I am, both of which are frighteningly out of my control. I AM TENTATIVELY STOKED, THOUGH.
Also, my first piece for my sculpture class turned out super excellently. I know that the rule is pics or gtfo, but I have no photos so I will just describe it: WEARABLE GLADIATOR BOOTS MADE OF WELDED SHEET STEEL AND FRINGED SUEDE LEATHER IN THE SHAPE OF HORSE LEGS. They have hooves! When I wear them I have hooves! They are the most amazing footwear ever, and also I welded them myself using a gun that shoots lightning bolts. Did I mention I can wear them? Also, arc welding. I have given serious thought to getting a welding ticket in the event that I do not become an art star in the next three years and need a day job.
